Redirect Custom Field

Accessing the wp-login.php page or the wp-admin directory without logging in will redirect you to the page defined on the redirect custom field. Leaving the redirect custom field empty will activate the default settings (redirect to the website’s homepage).

How it works?

Go under Settings, click «Permalinks» and change your URL under «Change wp-admin login».

Step 1: Add a new login URL
Step 2: Add redirect URL

Note — After you activate this plugin, the wp-admin directory and wp-login.php page will become unavailable, so you should bookmark or remember the URL. Disabling this plugin brings your site back exactly to its previous state.

1. Go to Plugins, and click on «Add New».
2. Search for Change wp-admin login.
3. Download, install, and activate it.
4. Go under Settings and then click on «Permalinks» and change your URL under «Change wp-admin login»
5. You can change this anytime; just go back to Settings > Permalinks > Change wp-admin login.

I can’t log in?

In case you forgot the login URL or for any other reason you can’t log in on the website, you will need to delete the plugin via SFT/FTP or cPanel on your hosting.

Path for the plugin folder:
/wp-content/plugins/change-wp-admin-login

Advanced users:
Go to your MySQL database and look for the value of rwl_page in the options table

Advanced users (multisite):
Go to your MySQL database and look for the rwl_page option will be in the site meta table or options table.

Does it work with TranslatePress?

You need to select the option NO «Use a subdirectory for the default language».

Does it work with Polylang?

Yes, it works, but not been tested with the URL option «The language is set from different domains».

Does it work on WordPress Multisite with Subdirectories?

Yes, it does work. You should set up the login URL in each website (Settings—>Permalinks)

Does it work on WordPress Multisite with Subdomains?

Does it work with Buddyboss?

No, Buddyboss has its own wp-admin redirect functions.

It manages to add a link to wp-admin, but still remains accessible from the classic wp-admin

It’s lightweight and it does what it says.

It’s a nice, simple and lightweight plugin that does what it says. No problems so far. You can find the settings in the Settings > Permalinks > Change wp-admin login. Would probably make more sense to have «Change wp-admin login» as first or last in the permalinks section, as now it’s between the Optional and Product permalinks. But I don’t know how often you change permalinks to even see that as a problem so… yeah… ignore that 😅

Simply, effective and light-weight! Thank you for making this available.

This is nothing but a copycat plugin. And instead of redirecting to the homepage, it redirects to a 404 url just like in the original plugin.

It is very useful and functional. It allows you to increase security in a very simple way. The developer will respond quickly to give help if needed.

There are a couple of methods for installing and setting up this plugin.

Upload Manually

1. Download and unzip the plugin
2. Upload the ‘wp-custom-admin-interface’ folder into the ‘/wp-content/plugins/’ directory
3. Go to the Plugins admin page and activate the plugin

Install via the Admin Area

1. In the admin area go to Plugins > Add New and search for «WP Custom Admin Interface»
2. Click install and then click activate

We don’t foresee such an event occuring but if you do happen to run into this you can visit: yourwebsite.com/index.php?wp-custom-admin-interface=delete-menu (replacing yourwebsite.com with your website) and this will delete all the options associated with the custom admin menu. You need to make sure you are still logged in to an admin account for this to work. If you don’t have admin access you’ll need to either remove the database option or delete the plugin entirely.

This plugin works wonderfully as it allows some pretty deep edits to the menus, dashboard page and Top Bar. I am grateful for such a robust free version, I cannot imagine how much better the pro version is.!

Although this is not the only plugin out there that can modify the css of Admin Pages or run JavaScript JQuery on the Admin site, it is probably has the most features! Wow! I was tired of having problems with my edit.php post list screen! I was using some ACF fields like Category and I use FS Poster and have Yoast SEO plugins installed and others. Several plugins were hogging valuable horizontal space til the Title was only about 3 characters wide and went a many lines down to display a title! So I used the Browser Debugger in FireFox to find out the html elements and tested the sizing I wanted to resize the table and each individual table element of «table. wp-list-table widefat posts». So now I have it the way I like it! If I install other things which mess this up, I can come in and fix the css again! If anyone wants to no my hack, let me now and I can share them the css or how I got what I needed from the browser debugger. If I wasn’t able to get everything I wanted by CSS I was prepared to throw JQuery at it! You bet I could later that edit.php displayed page quite easily with JQuery!

I disabled the plugin, and the error «Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.» it’s always visible this error, so i can’t install any plugin, this is horrible, to obbligate people to buy this plugin!!!

Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to the author for offering a truly perfect plugin that likely required a great deal of time to create. Moreover, the author has generously provided a fully functional and unadulterated version in the true open-source spirit, without a bunch of upsells and nagging. The plugin UI is quite busy, but given the complexity of the theme, I can’t imagine it being any simpler. The plugin boasts a multitude of options, and for the average user, almost all of them are useful, and none are significantly crippled. The range of possibilities is mind-boggling: Custom Login page with logo and everything, Disable automatic WordPress updates and/or Plugin updates, Custom JS, CSS and PHP for backend and frontend, Custom Maintenance aka Coming Soon page design, Supports creating admin color schemes, Allows you to create Admin notices, Hide plugins from appearing on the plugins page, Complete editing of Admin Menu without restrictions, Hiding users, Hide meta boxes as well as Sidebars. It’s like having five plugins in one, but in a good way. Thank you! And I hope you make a ton of money on the Pro version so that this «basic» version remains free for us «average» users. Bravo! Thanks!

I mainly needed this plugin to re-order the admin menu for clients. But the missing «collapse» option before dragging/dropping items into the desired order makes this process borderline impossible. Shame. Going back to Admin Menu Editor.

Let me explain what’s going on. This plugin started small with a couple of nice features. But the single plugin settings page had become so large and complex that the loading time took a significant strain on low-medium powered websites. I needed to take the inevitable action of splitting up the settings into separate pages so the loading time was far more efficient and the plugin was actually usable. I know this is going to be a real pain for existing users but I tried everything to prevent your existing settings from being lost however I couldn’t find a good solution to resolve this. On the bright side this new settings platform will enable more advanced exporting and importing of settings which is really valuable to website administrators. Распространенный метод защиты wp-admin

Помимо использования защищенных паролей, включения двухфакторной аутентификации и настраиваемых URL-адресов для входа, другим распространенным способом является ограничение доступа с помощью IP-адреса. Обычно список разрешенных IP-адресов заносится в белый список на сервере.

Проблема с этим подходом в том, что он не масштабируется для больших команд, а если у нас будет несколько блогов, управлять этим станет сложнее.

Как мы решили эту проблему

Во Freshworks у нас работало более 10 экземпляров блога, из которых 8 экземпляров блога работали под freshworks.com с глубоко вложенными URL-адресами, и более 100+ пользователей управляли контентом. Таким образом, создание белого списка и управление IP-адресами на сервере приложений было более сложным.

 Таким образом, вместо внесения в белый список на сервере мы заблокировали все запросы к /wp-admin в самом балансировщике нагрузки, чтобы никто не мог получить доступ к серверам приложений напрямую.

Теперь нам нужно разрешить команде маркетинга доступ к wp-admin. Один из способов сделать это — получить прямой доступ к серверу приложений с сопоставлением хостов, но людям, не являющимся техническими специалистами, таким как команда по маркетингу, авторам контента и команде SEO, было сложно включать и выключать сопоставление хостов для доступа к CMS веб-сайта и блога. CMS.

Чтобы преодолеть это, мы создали бэкдор-URL, к которому можно получить доступ только через нашу VPN, в которой мы разрешили доступ к /wp-admin , поэтому для каждого экземпляра блога мы настроили следующие два домена:

• Public URL: Это для обычных пользователей; /wp-admin в общедоступном URL-адресе полностью заблокирован для всех пользователей.

• URL-адрес бэкдора: Этот URL-адрес предназначен только для внутренней команды и доступен только через нашу VPN.

Как мы обслуживали один и тот же блог для двух доменов

URL-адреса WordPress являются абсолютными URL-адресами. При установке WordPress siteurl   и home значения будут сохранены в таблице wp_options с заданным доменным именем.

Для каждого запроса к домашнему URL добавляется . Таким образом, если несколько доменов обслуживают один и тот же экземпляр WordPress, для соответствующего домена будет отображаться только домашняя страница. Когда пользователь переходит на любую страницу, он будет перенаправлен на значение домашнего URL-адреса , хранящееся в базе данных (БД).

Чтобы он работал для нескольких доменов, мы изменили файл wp-config.php, чтобы он обслуживал siteurl и домашний URL 9.0446 в качестве текущего хоста вместо статического, сохраненного в таблице wp_options.

В приведенном выше фрагменте мы определяем WP_HOME и WP_SITEURL как константы и присваиваем им текущий адрес хоста в качестве значения, поэтому значения siteurl и home будут динамическими и относительными к текущему домену. Как только мы добавим приведенный выше фрагмент в wp-config.
